Bio – Amy T. Shuster
A Chicago native, Amy has found her home in Los Angeles getting involved in a variety of productions around town. A Meisner trained actress, she has studied under John Ruskin and Mikey Myers at the Ruskin School in Santa Monica. She has also trained with Brian Gallivan at Second City, Amy Rhodes at The Upright Citizens Brigade in Hollywood, CA and vocal coach Veera Asher.
She is very cheesy, which is ironic because she has been lactose intolerant her whole life. Amy loves to eat and tell so she started BackyardBite.com which is her lastest passion project and current full-time job! When not acting or singing, you will find Amy noshing at a local restaurant, getting to know the food and the food makers and then blogging about it. She has also recently added the title of Producer to her list of credentials, making promotional shorts and mini-documentaries for restaurants looking to increase their visual presence on the web.

Her acting resume includes; The comedic web series, The Sixth Minute and a Los Angeles production of The Vagina Monolouges for V-Day 2011 where she and the all female, 18-member cast, performed to a sold-out, 300 seat theater for three hilarious performances. Amy’s played the super campy role of spinster, “Mrs. Thick” in Charles Bush’s Sleeping Beauty or Coma at the Attic Theater, a one-night-stand who can’t take the hint in Blame of Love and a bitchy ex-girlfriend in A Casual Affair. Her independent film credits include, Out of The Fire (168-Film Festival), The D-Monster (AFI) and Hope for Haiti (NYFA) a PSA to raise awareness for the ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. Exercising her spanish speaking ability, she was cast in an episode as the lead role, on a spanish network show on TeleAzteca. And finally, one of her favorite moments was getting to sing Beatles classics with in a six person cast in a tribute cabaret performance at the Attic theater.
Amy has been seen on MTV and VH1 tickling the ivories in the Sara Barellis video, “Bottle it Up”, strutting across Abbey Road in a national commercial for The Beatles Rockband game, modeling for a VH1’s reality show, Salon Confidential, speaking Spanish in an infomercial for the Cuerpaso workout video, and and offering a true testimonial for the Flavor Wave Turbo Oven featuring Mr. T!
Amy is an obsessive Yelper, and foodie and dreams of one day dethroning Rachel Ray as the Food Network’s culinary princess. She is a writer, director and producer and singer.
